Publishing webpages on the Aberystwyth University Server
Students and Staff at Aberystwyth University are allowed to publish their own web page, free on the Web via the University's server. This facility is a privilege and you need to make sure that any web page you publish conforms to the University's requirements.

Publishing your web page
To publish a web page on the University server you need to:
- add web publishing permissions to your IT account (How do I do that?)
- read the Guidelines on publishing to the World Wide Web at Aberystwyth University and make sure your page conforms to them ( Where are they? )

ensure you have included the required disclaimer as follows:
The information provided on this and other pages by me, Fred Smith (***@aber.ac.uk), is under my own personal responsibility and not that of the Aberystwyth University. Similarly, any opinions expressed are my own and are in no way to be taken as those of Aberystwyth University. - ensure that you have not included the University's Crest or Logo on your personal pages
- map a network drive ( How do I do that? )
- save your page's into the public html directory on this Drive (M Drive)
- give your home page the name index.html
Your web page should appear under:
https://users.aber.ac.uk/ [your username]
Making changes or corrections to your web page
To make updates or corrections to your web page you must:
- map a M drive ( How do I do that? )
- open the file you want to edit in Notepad
- make any amendments
- save them
- check they have been saved by accessing your page live on the web and hitting refresh/reload
