CAD Software
Sketchup offers a free online CAD environment that allows you to 3d model to scale. You can then download these models into other software.
Vectorworks offers a free student version of their software. this is unlimited but does watermark outputs.
Maxon who make Cinema4d offer a free 6 month licence for their software. this is the full version without limitation and can be renewed as long as you still have your student email. Although it is free they do charge a $2.99 admin fee to process the request.
This is the software that is run by our ligthing consoles. It is free to download and use, and has a free visualiser built in. With this version you can't output to any dvices but you can pre-program and see how things will look in Augment3d
Capture offers a free student version of their software. This is good for lighting visualisation with generic fixtures and some intelligent fixtures.
You can get access to a free autodesk licence for use with Autocad and their suite of software from the autodesk website. Active for as long as you have a university email.
