Dimensionality reduction

A systematic overview of current techniques for dimensionality reduction with a particular emphasis on feature selection is given in this chapter. It begins with a discussion of those reduction methods that irreversibly transform data semantics. This is followed by a more detailed description and evaluation of the leading feature selectors presented in a uni ed algorithmic framework. A simple example illustrates their operation.
