Results tab
The Results tab is where grades and marks are entered during marking. Select a student from the
list on the left, an assessment from the list beside it, then enter a grade or mark for each task
in the grades table. A preview of the calculated marks and combined feedback is shown at the bottom
of the tab as grades are entered.
The student list and the assessment/grades area can be resized by dragging the divider between
them, and the Anonymous marking checkbox (enabled by
default - see Settings) shows only student ID numbers in the list,
useful when marking should not be influenced by knowing whose work it is. While marking
anonymously, the instant-search box above the student list is the quickest way to find the right
student: type their ID, and as soon as it uniquely matches one student that student is selected
automatically - worth double-checking the rest of the ID against the script being marked before you
start.
A non-submission checkbox is available for each task to
flag that a student did not submit that piece of work.
Reusable feedback
The Show reusable feedback button on a task opens a popup
listing the reusable feedback items available for the grade currently selected (built up on the
Assessments tab). Any combination can be selected for the current
student; toggling "show all grades" also offers items created for other grades on the same task.
Feedback belonging to other grades appears shaded until it has actually been added to the current
selection.
Bespoke, one-off feedback can also be typed directly for a task and reused for other students by
choosing it from the "show all" list rather than retyping it.
Groups
Despite the name, this is a simple copying tool, not a way to create a persistent group of
students. The group feedback popup copies all marks and
feedback from the currently selected student to one or more others you choose. It is called
"Groups" because the most common reason to use it is groupwork: several students submitting the
same piece of work, who should initially receive identical marks and feedback.
The popup lists (ticks) every student who currently happens to have identical
feedback to the one selected - this is just a convenient starting point, recalculated each time the
popup opens from whatever the feedback happens to be at that moment, not a record of "the group"
itself. Clicking a student's name in the list shows the differences in marks and feedback between
them and the currently selected student in the message area; clicking an unchecked box for a
student copies all marks and feedback from the selected
student to them (with a warning first if this would overwrite anything).
The copy is a one-off, not a link. If either student's
marks or feedback are changed afterwards, the other is not updated automatically - repeat the copy
if the change should also apply to them.
