Customising WordPress

Published on February 1st, 2012 by in Website

There are a lot of things to change in WordPress. First thing is template. I’m not a graphic designer, so I’ve used free theme called iFeature created by CyberChimps. I’ve chosen it, because it is clear and simple. There is already social media feed (Facebook, Tweeter, Google+, YouTube) integrated with this theme, but I’m using only Facebook. I had to change few more things in this theme:

  1. Created new logo.
  2. Added Meta Elements to get higher Google position.
  3. Rearranged widgets.
  4. Added disclaimer.

To increase functionality of the website I’ve added two plugins:

  1. CodeColorer
It allows me to insert code into the post with nice syntax highlighting.
  2. Google Analyticator
It integrates my website with Google Analytics.
