Diffraction practical

There is a choice of four experiments. You should do one of them, working in pairs. The assignment for this practical is a short report on your experiment and is worth 15% of the 10 credits of this module. It is due at 2pm on the first Monday immediately following the January exams and should be submitted electronically using the coursework website before that deadline.

Groups and schedule will be determined in one of the lectures.

The following experiments are available:

  1. Thermal expansion
  2. Phase identification
  3. Single crystal diffraction
  4. Particle size broadening
