Llanrhystud and the Wyre estuarian plain.

<- Steep climb up to Penlan farm.

Daffodils in the wild at Penlan - a whole week before St David's Day!

Looking back over Llanrhystud.

Nosey sheep at Penlan. ->

First glimpse of the sea from Banc.

Tree sheltering from the wind behind a fence.

One ditch away from the coastal path.

Looking down the coast to Llanrhystud's caravan site, Morfa.

The view inland back to Banc.

Carreg Ti-Pw, the rocks under the cliff.

Gorse in flower.

At 120m above mean sea level, the curvature of the Earth becomes noticable.

Clifftop wall.

Rock strata peeking out of the cliffside.

Looking up the coast as far as Aberdyfi.

The path gets narrower...

...and the drop steeper...

...but the sheep don't mind the exposure.

The most useless fence ever.

Clifftop gorse.

A crumbly section of cliff...

...gives way to a grassy headland above the drop.

More gorse.

The grass and topsoil must have burnt recently, but the gorse bush doesn't seem to mind.

Sheep and quarry on the inland side of the coastal ridge.

<- Drainage ditch for the Penygraig headland.

Grassy track near Penygraig farm.

The Afon Carrog at Llanddeiniol.

<- Postbox and bus stop for Llanddeiniol, on the main road.

Llanrhystud from near Gilfachau farm.

Best gorse so far!

A minor stream near Gilfachau has dug a sizeable gorge...

...which can be crossed on this causeway.

Fields between Gilfachau and Pencwmcanol.

A rare view around here - an arable field.

The narrow lane straddling the top of the Wyre gorge.

Steep woodland in Cwm Wyre.

The very overgrown track leading down into Cwm Wyre.

Sileage barn and stables at Pen Cwm Isaf.

This page shows my own views down the hillsides of Wales, not those of my employer. Does anyone really think the College is paying me to go walking?!?
