Module description, registration and summer contact details

Module description

The study tour takes place before formal registration in the new academic year. It is extremely helpful if pre-registered  and potential returning students can complete and return the form attached to the initial information sheet circulated during the summer vacation:

Summer memo and contact form

It is also helpful if you can complete and return a medical form to inform responsible staff of any circumstances that should be known during trips away from the Institute and that might affect you undertaking outdoor activities:

Module fees and other costs

We have negotiated there to be no fees for this module since it is based in Aberystwyth and is no longer a residential course held some distance away. However, there will be social events on the Monday and Wednesday evenings. Please be sure to bring along adequate cash if you want to purchase drinks and refreshments for the Science Cafe event at the Upper Bar, Arts Centre on Monday evening and at the Brigands Inn stop on return from Lake Vyrnwy on Wednesday evening. There are likely to be occasional informal stops on other days where refreshments can be purchased if you wish to take advantage of the opportunity, without obligation.

Accommodation

Please note that you will be responsible for finding your own accommodation within Aberystwyth during the week of the study tour. If you intend to use University Residential Services, they require an indication of the number of rooms that need to be set aside prior to the start of the academic year. A form has been circulated for completion and return so that the figure can be calculated and names passed on to Residential Services.
