Full day Workshop on

Current Software frameworks in Cognitive Robotics integrating different computational paradigms

This WS took place September 22nd
in conjunction with the upcoming IROS 2008,
held in Nice, France, between Sept. 22 to 26, 2008.

The objective of this workshop was to highlight and discuss existing examples of software frameworks combining autonomous robot systems and cognition research. It was intended as a platform for exchange and discussion, open for researchers as well as hardware and software engineers. We are glad that this platform was used by over forty participants.

Invited speakers were discussing their experience on this topic and presenting software systems which have been developed out of long experience in the integration of heterogeneous robot hardware and software for multi-disciplinary research projects.

We would like to thank all speakers and participants for doing their part in making this WS an informative and successful event!

A in-depth-version of the work presented at the WS providing detailed background and recent applications in cognitive robotics is made available as the Special Issue Informatics for cognitive robots in the journal ADVANCED ENGINEERING INFORMATICS.
