Silly stuff we have done (and still do…)
Marie and I have done various silly sailing things. These
include at least the following:
- Buying
an old wooden Folkboat… (we finally sold her!).
- Sailing
an old wooden Folkboat in inappropriate places and conditions (Bristol
Channel, West Wales, West coast of Scotland, Orkneys…).
- Doing
the three peaks yacht race with some friends… and coming third.
- Buying
an old steel junk-rigged 35ft Robert Tucker designed cruiser.
- Sailing
an old steel junk-rigged 35ft Robert Tucker designed cruiser from
Aberystwyth to Southern Chile. Not direct… we’re not quite that
stupid.
- Chopping
an old steel junk-rigged 35ft Robert Tucker designed cruiser up into
bits small enough to fit into a container… and then sticking it back
together again (still in progress!).
- Becoming
parents after sailing to the far end of the world and spending all our
money.
I’m sure we’ve done some other silly stuff, but I forget
what exactly.

Here is a very
sad looking “La Breeze”. She’s now looking a little less sad, but still needs
lots more loving care and attention to get her back to sea. Soon now!

“La Breeze” in
her former (soon to be restored) glory. She’s not junk-rigged any more.

This is “Pepita”
she was our Folkboat… she’s been sold now.
