Welcome to my website I am a freelance writer, speaker and consultant on bioethical issues. From 1966 to 1976, I studied at Leeds, Pennsylvania State and Nottingham Universities. From 1976 to 2001, I was a lecturer in biochemistry and bioethics at the Institute of Biological Sciences, the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. In 1982, I became the founding chairman of the Aberystwyth LIFE Group and co-founder of Evangelicals for LIFE, a specialist grouping within the charity, LIFE. From 1984 until 2009, I was a member of the Central Committee of LIFE, the UK's leading pro-life organisation and from 2009, I was appointed to the board of trustees of that charity. From 1989, I was a member and sometime chairman of the Social Issues Team of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC) and since 2004, a member of the Social Issues Team of Affinity. I have lectured, debated, broadcast and written about bioethical issues for the last 30 years and more. These activities have taken me throughout the UK, as well as to Denmark, Germany, Japan, Holland, Latvia, Canada, Poland and the Isle of Man. I am married to Wendy, and we have three grown-up children: Simeon, Benjamin and Anna – a lawyer, a scientist and a teacher – and six granddaughters: Esther, Rachel, Naomi, Mia, Tiana and Gwen, and one grandson: Joshua. My hobbies include gardening and inshore boat-fishing in Cardigan Bay. Since 2003, I have been a magistrate on the Ceredigion Bench.
