I am a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science (partly retired). I lecture on Java and C programming, and programming related security issues.
I have been a Visiting Scientist at the Software Engineering Institute, Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, USA since 1992. Recently, my research has involved the investigation of software vulnerabilities in Java and the development of secure coding standards and programming guidelines for Java.
I am chairman of the British Computer Society's Mid-Wales Branch.
Also, I am a long serving volunteer Coastguard and an active member of the Aberystwyth Coastguard Search and Rescue Team.
