On a public workstation
Start - Network Access - Connect to Central
On an office computer
Start - Run - type in telnet central.aber.ac.uk
Once you have used one these methods, you need to enter username and password, and press enter at the Terminal Type line. Once the $ prompt is up you can start doing what you need to.
