Nant y Moch Skyline Fell Race

RESULTS 2013!!

Many thanks to all who turned up to race. Either side of race day we have had glorious clear skies but the forecast was just about spot on and during the race afternoon the clag closed in, the rain came down and for those in the second half of the field the wind on Pumlumon was fearsome. Pete Ryder (Brecheiniog) was a clear winner in 2.08.52 but 5 minutes behind him it was a close fought battle with the next five runners having only a minute between them all, places could be won or lost depending which tussock you jumped. Louise Barker (Aberystwyth AC) was first lady home in 2.38.55 despite having spent the previous few hours and to within minutes of the start toiling away helping with setting up and registration.

We are grateful to the landowners for giving us permission to cross their land and Statkraft for allowing us use of the start/finish area. Most of all we would like to thank all those who turned up to help marshal the event and who endured some very nasty conditions for several hours. Special mention must go the folks from Raynet, the radio cover they provided and marshalling services they undertook were truly fantastic.

Thanks also to the fell runners friend Al Tye, yet again he turned out to photograph a bunch of muddy, wet, bedraggled individuals most of whom seem to forget to smile for the camera – his great photos are at fellrunningpictures.co.uk .
