Now on with the History :-
It all started with one girls' dream, she wanted to write a dissertation and thought that she'd do it on something she heard about and was quite curious as to what and why people watch Anime. It was then, in the spring of 2003 that said Kerstin Leder put up flyers and posters around campus to find Anime fans to participate in an audience survey of what it means to be an Anime fan, how to get into it and so on. Through the interviews and questionaires a number of people got in touch. There was one interview group which had Natalie Malcolm and Andy Yu, both from Birmingham along with myself. Another group included Christopher Glynn from Stoke-on-Trent, Andreas Papadopoulos from Greece and Stuart Parsons from Slough. Between this rag-tag bunch of Anime-watching low lives, an idea started to appear: "We all like Anime, that's cool! Why don't we get together more often?".
Chris Glynn and Andreas Papadopoulos inquired as to how such a feat could be realized and on Valentine's Day 2003 an email was sent to lovers of Anime all over the campus, proclaiming that official attempts to create Animesoc had started and that people interested should get in touch. (Gerard)
More to come.
