MOON WATCH NIGHT

Why Saturday 8^th October 2011?

· This is close to the start of the school year in the northern hemisphere

· Nights are now long enough to be able to see the Moon at a reasonable hour

· Not too cold a time of the year

· Needed to avoid the Full Moon as features are more difficult to see then

· A weekend evening is preferable to a busy weekday evening
